Getting Started with Zotero

If you will always use the same computer when using Zotero, you can simply download it and get started.

Download it at www.zotero.org.

If you want to be able to work on multiple computers, you will need to download both Firefox and Zotero on a flashdrive. You will then need to run Firefox and Zotero from this each time you use it.

Find information on downloading both Firefox and Zotero here.

RefWorks

RefWorks

RefWorks is a web application accessible from every campus computer and every off-campus computer that is connected to the campus network through the VPN and proxy server. The UC Irvine Libraries have paid for a campus-wide subscription to this product.

EndNote

EndNote

Currently the Libraries provide access to one licensed copy of EndNote version X1 in the Multimedia Resources Center (MRC), Interactive Learning Center (ILC), and in the Grunigen Medical Library at the UCI Medical Center. Due to licensing restrictions, Endnote X1 is only available to UC Irvine students, faculty, and staff. For off campus use of EndNote, students, faculty and staff should buy a copy of the EndNote software at the UC Irvine Computer Store. There is no remote access to the Libraries' copies.

NIH Open Access Policy

What's mine is yours, sort of

"Beginning April 7, 2008, all Principal Investigators funded by the NIH must submit an electronic version of their final, peer-reviewed manuscripts, upon acceptance for publication, to the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central. These must be made publicly available no later than 12 months after the date of publication." Read more about the NIH Public Access Policy here: http://www.lib.uci.edu/scamp/nih-guide.html
